Founded in 2023 by Executive Chef Deependra Singh, Aanchal Indian Restaurant & Bakery is nestled in the Palika Bazaar strip mall in Edmonton's Griesbach neighbourhood. The restaurant brings a rich culinary heritage to Edmonton, offering an innovative menu spanning traditional North Indian classics, Indo-Chinese fusion dishes, and Indian-style pizza.

Chef Deependra trained at the world-famous Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur before becoming the opening executive chef at Guru in Edmonton's west end. His passion for traditional cooking and desire to offer Edmonton an authentic taste of India led him to launch Aanchal in 2023. Despite its cozy footprint — with approximately five dine-in tables — Aanchal has become a beloved neighbourhood gem that draws customers from across the city.

"Got take out from Aanchal and it was delicious! They are located in a little plaza area. I would highly recommend the cauliflower 65! It's cauliflower that is battered and covered in a sweet and tangy sauce. The butter chicken combo was good as well!"

"I tried this place near a friend's house as my favourite food is butter chicken. Well let me tell you, this was the best butter chicken I have had. The service was wonderful, the lady at the counter came out with some pita chips while I waited... the combo even comes with a dessert. The whipped mango one was the cherry on top of the whole experience. Will definitely be visiting again."

"Being long time lovers of Guru in the west end, we had to try the food here. The owner/chef is very welcoming and attentive. The chicken biryani was superb, the chicken was perfection and the spices were just right. The butter chicken sauce is the best I've ever had… The cauliflower 65 is excellent. Overall I would rate everything as a 4.8 but will stick with the 5/5. We'll be back!"

"The place is clean, and the temperature is perfect. The best butter chicken ever, good portion. Samosa was good, and the tamarind chutney was good. The mango custard is a must after you are done. The best part... the owner is really nice and provides a great service."
